The Hampta Pass trek is a popular trekking route located in the beautiful state of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is known for its stunning landscapes, varied terrains, and breathtaking views of the Himalayan mountain range.
The trek starts from the village of Jobra and takes you through lush green valleys, dense forests, meandering rivers, and snow-capped peaks. One of the highlights of the trek is crossing the Hampta Pass, which sits at an altitude of around 4,270 meters (14,010 feet). This pass serves as a gateway between the lush green Kullu Valley and the arid desert-like Spiti Valley.
Day 1: Pickup from Manali at 10 am and drive to Jobra by taxi (22 km). Trek to Cheeka camp on the same day (3 km, 1/2 hours, 3,078 meters).
Day 2: Trek from Cheeka camp to Balu ka Gera (8 km, 4/5 hours, 3,783 meters).
Day 3: Trek from Balu ka Gera to Shea Goru camp via Hampta Pass (12 km, 6/7 hours, 4,310 meters, descending to 3,735 meters).
Day 4: Trek from Shea Goru camp to Chatru camp (5 km, 3/4 hours). Same day, drive to Chandratal Lake (4,300 meters) and return to Chatru camp (156 km, 5/6 hours).
Day 5: Trek from Chatru camp to Manali via Atal Tunnel (4,114 meters) (140 km). Reach Manali by 2 pm.
